‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ breaks Metacritic review record with 100% rating, 43 reviews

In what seemed to be impossible with today’s standard of gaming, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has broken a Metacritic review record with 43 reviews giving it a perfect 100% rating.  The previous record, held by Super Mario Galaxy and Grand Theft Auto 4, totaled in at a total of 42 perfect ratings.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to many as, historically, The Legend of Zelda has been a favorite among all different types of gamers.  The Breath of the Wild brings a unique experience to everyone who plays it due to the vast and almost endless world you are thrown into to explore.

For the first time in the franchise, Breath of the Wild wentwith the sandbox approach which worked out beautifully.  With no specific direction given, players are thrown into this new world with endless fields, forests, mountains, and much more to explore.  Throughout your journey, you will discover what has now become of the Hyrule Kingdom when the newest “Ganon” of the series, Calamity Ganon, reigns terror on Hyrule Castle.  With Link’s memory erased, you must explore the world to regain memories of your past while making allies across the land to help bring down the Calamity Ganon once and for all.

Unlike most sandbox games out there, The Breath of the Wild, truly strays away from the standard cash-grab, checklist of chores, and busy work that you find in other games like Grand Theft Auto, and Assassin’s Creed.  With no specific path to follow, the world is truly yours to explore how you want.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
