Old Hermione meets new Hermione: Emma Watson attends ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,’ meets the cast

Two Harry Potter worlds collided this week when Emma Watson attended a performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts 1 and 2, a stageplay from J.K. Rowling telling the “eighth Harry Potter story”.

Following the show, the actress who played Hermione Granger in all eight Potter films, met with the play’s cast and crew, where she posed for photos. It was here that old and new united, as Watson met with Noma Dumezweni, the talented actress playing an adult Hermione in Cursed Child:

Noma had nothing but nice things to say after meeting Watson:

Cursed Child is the first canon story to feature Harry Potter and his family after the epilogue in Deathly Hallows. The story will unfold as a stageplay in London, where previews began in June. The play officially debuts on July 30th, and a published version of the play script will hit store shelves the following day for fans who aren’t able to make it to the West End to see the show live.
