It’s been a long time coming, but Nintendo has finally released Pokémon Go across the globe! The mobile augmented reality game can be found for free in the iOS and Android app stores starting today!

Pokémon Go is a new mobile gaming app from Nintendo which blurs the lines between traditional Pokémon games and the real world. The app combines the power of your phone’s GPS and mapping capabilities with its own systems to place Pokémon, Gyms, trainers, and teams in real areas in your community and across the world.

Players explore their surroundings to discover and catch more than a hundred species of Pokémon. You begin playing by customizing your own avatar, becoming the Trainer of your choosing. You’ll see this avatar on the map while playing the game.

As you play the game, you’ll level up as a Trainer, allowing you to catch more powerful Pokémon. You can join teams and battle others at Gym locations found all over. You can conquer these locations, leaving your own Pokémon behind to ward off would-be attackers.

It’s free to play, gets you outdoors, and makes for a fun and unique way to explore your community! So what’re you waiting for? Go catch em all!
