FOX reboots ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’

FOX will be rebooting its 2003 movieĀ The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is based on Alan Moore’s (V for Vendetta, Watchmen) graphic novel of the same name. It is centered on a group of Victorian-era literary characters, such as Captain Nemo, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Mina, Invisible Man, among others, who team up to protect the interests of the Empire. John Davis (I Robot, The Blacklist) is set to produce.

In 2013 a TV series was in development with Michael Green (Green Lantern) as its writer and showrunner, along with Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow), but the pilot was never picked up.

As of now there are no more news about this reboot. The previous movie was intended to become a franchise, but after doing poorly in the box-office those plans were abandoned. But since FOX owned the rights, we can assume they’re trying to make the best of the current superhero wave.
