With the insane amount of popularity that The Walking Dead enjoys, it is completely natural for other networks to get into the zombie series business. Syfy has Z Nation. So what is next? The Animal Planet is bringing us a series that dives into the realm of undead animals.
From creators Joshua Ortega (“Gears of War,” Spider-Man”) and Digger Mesch (“Agent 88,” “X-Men”) and IDW Publishing, “The Other Dead” is set in Louisiana during the ‘next Hurricane Katrina’ and revolves around a world of undead animals and unrelenting storms.
“The entire creative team could not be more excited about this partnership, and the timing for ‘The Other Dead’ series could not be more perfect,” says Ortega.“Zombie animal meets Animal Planet? Sounds like we have some serious undead fun ahead of us.”
Adds Rick Holzman, Animal Planet exec VP and g.m.: “This is an intriguing choice for Animal Planet as the network further branches out into different, dynamic genres.”
New artwork has been released for the creepy looking movie Babadook. You can see the artwork, trailer, and synopsis below.
Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her ‘out of control’ 6-year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook’ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control; he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son’s behavior, is forced to medicate him. But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real.
Twelve new pictures have been released for the upcoming horror film Ouija, which is scheduled to be in theaters on October 26th.
I’m on the fence about this one. It seems it might be directed specifically for teens, but I hope that this is a solid horror movie for all horror fans. I’m also sure that all these folks in the film will die horrible deaths due to screwing around with a Ouija board.
A group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
I have no idea how many of you are familiar with the series, but all of the episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark are now available on YouTube. I’m personally looking forward to returning to these shows of my childhood!
The anthology series ran on Nickelodeon from 1992 – 1996 and again from 1999 – 2000. The hosts of the show were a group of 10 teens (the Midnight Society) who would tell ghost stories which would be acted out in vignettes.
