‘Arrow’ Season 2.5 will be a digital-first comic series

CW has announced that Mark Guggenheim and Keto Shimizu, Arrow’s executive producer and story editor respectively, will a write a digital-first comic that will serve as season 2.5 for the show. It will pick right up after season two’s finale and will lead the fans into the start of season three.

They are looking to tell stories true to the television series but that aren’t limited by the budget of that medium. They said to expect over the top actions scenes, more adventures with ARGUS and Amanda Waller, and even with the Suicide Squad. Other characters will make an appearance, such as Black Canary, Deathstroke and Brother Blood, but the comic book series will also introduce new characters that will make an appearance in the TV show.

The first chapter is already available on the DC Comics App, comiXology.com, ReadDCEntertainment.com, iBooks, Google Play, Kindle Store, and the Nook Store. They will also be collected and published monthly, the first issue of which will see print on Oct. 8.

The series premieres on that same day. Below is a preview of the comic’s first pages.
