We have finally received word that Alexandre Aja’s Horns has been scheduled for a UK release on October 31, 2014. While that is excellent news, we still haven’t heard anything about a US theatrical release. Being a fan of the book by Joe Hill, I’m really excited to see the film version of the tale. You can see the synopsis, clip, and some pics below (pics are courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, if noted).
With Radcliffe looking to shed the child star image that he garnered in the Harry Potter series by jumping at roles like these, it looks like he will bring an interested pathos to the role of Iggy. I’m looking forward to seeing how Radcliffe adapts to the role of the tragic hero or villain that is Ig Perrish.
HORNS, a supernatural thriller driven by fantasy, mystery, and romance, follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend, Merrin (Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer. This rock and roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people and what the loss of true love can do to a man. The widely acclaimed book was on the New York Times bestseller list for six weeks and has become an international bestseller as well.
