New sting and behind the scenes photo from the ‘Doctor Who’ 50th Anniversary Special released, plus a new trailer announcement

The Day of the Doctor is nearing!

Doctor Who, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is set to release an epic celebration episode in November, ushering in the return of at least one old Doctor alongside Matt Smith and an entirely new Doctor — the evil Doctor — played by John Hurt.

Today, the BBC has released a new “sting” — a short promo video — promoting the episode during Atlantis:

The BBC also released a new behind-the-scenes photo from the filming of the episode, confirming the return of the Daleks for the 50th anniversary!

Last, but certainly not least: the BBC is finally speaking about the first official non-Comic Con trailer for the special, which should be ready to release soon! Here’s what they had to say on the official Doctor Who website:

We recently announced a raft of programmes that will be help celebrate the Doctor’s anniversary but stand by for several surprises en route to the 50th… One of them is a brand new trailer, specially written and shot for The Day of the Doctor. It’s never been seen before and is currently in post-production. Bold, brilliant and unexpected, it promises to be an ideal way to look forward to the big day – 23 November.

The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor, will air on November 23rd, 2013!
