New photos and video from the ‘Game of Thrones’ season four set show us the ‘Mountain’ and more important scenes

Game of Thrones season four is deep into production in Croatia, where fans have turned up in the dozens to get a glimpse at the bloody show as it films some key scenes.

A new batch of set photos and a new video give us a unique glimpse into various scenes for the upcoming season, including a look at the “Mountain” (Gregor Clegann, played by Hafthor Bjornsson) and his duel with Oberyn “The Red Vyper” Martel. We can also see that the Croatian park has been decorated for King’s Landing festivities:

Video from the set gives us a look at how filming for the above scenes went down, including a man impaled on a sword following a bloody fight:

According to the official Game of Thrones Wiki, season four “will be mostly based on the latter part of A Storm of Swords, the third book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, but also some material may be added from the fourth and fifth books (which run concurrently alongside the end of the third book and each other).”

Game of Thrones season four will premiere on HBO some time in spring 2014!
