A new interview with Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, reveals what fans of the hit HBO show may have been fearing: season four will have the most deaths in the show’s current run, eclipsing season three, which contained the dreaded and gut-wrenching ‘Red Wedding’ scene.
Fans of the books won’t be terribly surprised; George R. R. Martin, the series’ author, is known for killing off beloved characters. However, those who only watch the show will now have to sit in terror as we learn that even more deaths — the most yet — are coming soon.
We recently brought you photos and video from the set of season four, which is still filming ahead of its spring 2014 release.
In the nearly two minute long video, Kit Harington speaks with Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards:
Here’s actor Kit Harington’s full quote on what fans can expect:
It doesn’t get any easier this season, it’s quite a high octane, action packed one…. More deaths this season than any other! I can’t tell you who dies. You’d think they’d tone the deaths down, but they don’t. They’ve realized that’s a successful option, so they’re just killing more people than we’ve ever killed.
Game of Thrones season four is currently filming and is set to air on HBO in spring 2014.
