‘Assassin’s Creed 4’ 10 minute game play video gives information on taverns, treasure & pirate-hunters

The first Assassin’s Creed game based around pirates is almost here! Ubisoft is reminding fans that although this seems like just a “side-story filled with pirates” it is actually a step-forward in the franchise.  To aid with this task, Ubisoft has released a 10 minute game play video – with commentary from the game’s director Ashraf Ismail.  As on of the Caribbean’s main pirate community, Kenway will have plenty of ways to fund illegal ventures and plenty of people trying to stop (and by stop, we mean kill) him – if this video is any indicator.

Although gameplay videos have been seen for this title already, the underwater treasure-hunting aspect seems to be very designed (if you ignore how long Kenway can hold his breath).  The visuals are impressive and the aquatic aspect of Black Flag seems very well done – especially if you consider the risks (sharks!) that players will be dealing with.

While this trailer surely shed some new light on game mechanics, no true judgement can be made until players dive (pun intended) into Black Flag first hand.  Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be released on October 29, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and on next-gen consoles.
