See Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz ride an alien ship in set photos from ‘Transformers 4’

New set photos have surfaced from filming of Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction (which just receive an official title yesterday) showing the film’s three leads, Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz flying down the streets on some sort of alien spaceship! The actors, in character during the shots, look terrified — rightly so, as they’re humans flying an alien-made gunship us humans likely won’t see for centuries!

Little information is out surrounding the film, but we do know that Jack Reynor will play the film’s lead as a race car driver. Nicola Peltz will play Reynor’s girlfriend, while Mark Wahlberg will play Nicola’s father. It would appear that Wahlberg’s character is a third wheel on a date gone horribly wrong between Reynor and Peltz’s characters!

Earlier this week, a Redditor spotted the spacecraft being transported down residential streets in Chicago:

We also have the basic plot synopsis for Age of Extinction:

“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”

[T]he film’s plot would see businessmen and scientists logically trying to benefit from the alien Cybertronian incursions, attempting to learn from and adapt the technology. It also hints that there may be more events from Earth’s past (beyond Apollo 11) that the Autobots, Decepticons or some other Cybertronian faction may have been involved in, in addition to the Hoover Dam of course.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to hit theaters on June 27th, 2014!
