‘Transformers 4’ gets an official title in the first poster for the new film!

Following days of speculation, Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 finally has an official title: Transformers: Age of Extinction! Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film, also released the film’s first poster alongside the title confirmation:

Late last week we brought you two stories filled with new set photos and set videos from the filming of Transformers 4, currently taking place in Chicago, featuring actors Kelsey Grammer, Victoria Summers, and Stanley Tucci.

We also have the basic plot synopsis for Age of Extinction:

“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”

[T]he film’s plot would see businessmen and scientists logically trying to benefit from the alien Cybertronian incursions, attempting to learn from and adapt the technology. It also hints that there may be more events from Earth’s past (beyond Apollo 11) that the Autobots, Decepticons or some other Cybertronian faction may have been involved in, in addition to the Hoover Dam of course.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to hit theaters on June 27th, 2014!
