New pics released from a sequel to a movie that creeps me out: ‘Wolf Creek 2’ is coming.

Back in July 2012, I posted a review of a movie that essentially deterred me from ever wanting to hike the Outback. Ever. Wolf Creek was an utterly creepy and disturbing movie that contains one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever watched in a film (Head on a Stick). You can see my review of this movie here. Well, now we have word that a sequel is coming our way.

The infamous, twisted killer Mick Taylor (played by John Jarratt) will be returning in Wolf Creek 2. The film will be shot in the Outback and will be directed by Greg Mclean. If you haven’t watched the original, you should check out the knife carrying, smiling psycho, but this isn’t a typical torture porn or a clichéd slasher flick. The original film creeped me out on several levels. I can only expect that the sequel will aim for that same level of disturbing content. Director Greg McLean was quoted saying: “Our goal is to create an even more suspenseful, chilling and unforgettable experience for audiences and we feel very confident they will not be disappointed.”

New stills from the film have been released and you can see them all below!

The sequel will hit Australian theaters on February 20, 2014.

Lured by the promise of an Australian holiday, backpackers Rutger, Katarina, and Paul visit the notorious Wolf Creek Crater. Their dream Outback adventure soon becomes a horrific reality when they encounter the site’s most infamous local, the last man any traveler to the region ever wants to meet: Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).

As the backpackers flee, Mick pursues them on an epic white-knuckled rampage across hostile wasteland. Only one will remain to be dragged back to his lair to witness the true magnitude of his monstrosity. And if the last man standing is to have any hope of surviving where no one else has survived before, he’ll have to use every ounce of cunning to outwit the man behind the monster and become every bit as ruthless as the monster inside the man.

What do you think? Will the sequel live up to expectations?
