Just yesterday we brought you the first official look at Transformers 4 — a photo from the set, released by Michael Bay, showing set pieces, cast, and crew. Today, four videos from filming (an explosion scene — surprised?) hit the web showing off a downtown set being blown to smithereens.
Bay and company are filming in Chicago, which they’ve transformed to look like downtown Hong Kong, where a large portion of the movie will take place. True to his nature, Bay is blowing the crap out of everything in the area, with major pyrotechnics launching and exploding cars left and right.
ComicBookMovie is reporting that none of the film’s stars were on location, but plenty of screaming extras were on hand as background “fodder” for Bay’s explosive nightmare:
Late last year, Michael Bay spoke about the movie’s plot, which (for now) is the only synopsis we have for the film:
“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”
The as-of-yet untitled Transformers 4 will hit theaters on June 27th, 2014!
