First official photo from ‘Transformers 4’ released by director Michael Bay

transformers4Michael Bay, director of the original Transformers trilogy, has broken the deafening silence surrounding the sort-of-reboot by releasing the first official photo from filming, which is curer

The photo doesn’t reveal much — it’s a photo of the cast and crew, including Mark Wahlberg, the film’s lead, and Michael Bay, standing on top of an alien-looking set piece. Bay steals the show, striking a heroic pose at the front of the photo. Here’s the full caption of the image from Bay himself:

“Pictured left to right: Jack Reynor; Mark Wahlberg; 2nd Assistant B-Camera Casey “Walrus” Howard; 1st Assistant B-Camera John Kairis with back to camera; B-camera Operator Lukasz Bielan; Director Michael Bay; and Director of Photography Amir Mokri.”

Transformers-4Late last year, Michael Bay spoke about the movie’s plot, which (for now) is the only synopsis we have for the film:

“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”

The as-of-yet untitled Transformers 4 will hit theaters on June 27th, 2014!
