Sony finally unveils its list of PlayStation 4 launch titles!

sony-playstation-4-launch-titlesSony has finally unveiled its official launch title list for the PlayStation 4, quickly following Microsoft’s announcement of their Xbox One launch day line-up earlier this week at Gamescom. All of these titles are set to go live when the PlayStation 4 goes on sale on November 15th in North America (with a European launch closely following on November 29th).

The list is fairly impressive, with noticeably more launch day titles than the Xbox One and launch day exclusives which include DC Universe Online, Knack, Minecraft, Planetside 2, and our personal favorite: Watch_Dogs. What seems to make Sony’s launch day offering so robust is the inclusion of many indie games, which Sony has thrown a substantial amount of support behind since the unveiling of the new console earlier this year, winning over indie game developers and gaming enthusiasts alike.

The following titles are PlayStation 4’s official launch titles (emphasis added on titles that fall within the fantasy, scifi, and horror umbrella):

  • Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag
  • Basement Crawl
  • Battlefield 4
  • Blacklight
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Contrast
  • DC Universe Online
  • Doki-Doki Universe
  • DriveClub
  • FIFA 14
  • Flower
  • Hohokum
  • Just Dance 2014
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Lego Marvel Superheroes
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Minecraft
  • N++
  • NBA Live
  • NBA 2K14
  • Need for Speed: Rivals
  • Pinball Arcade
  • Planetside 2
  • Pool Nation Extreme
  • ResoGun
  • Skylanders: Swap Force
  • Super Motherload
  • The Playroom
  • Tiny Brains
  • Warframe
  • War Thunder
  • Watch_Dogs

It’s clear that the PS4’s launch day list is longer, although we suspect some fans may seen through the inclusion of many of these indie titles for what it is: list filler. When eliminating some of the less desirable indie offerings, it looks as though the Xbox One may have the upper hand with more AAA and mega-hit indie titles on launch day. Time will tell!

PlayStation 4 is set to hit the market on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe!
