Natalie Dormer of ‘Game of Thrones’ will join the cast of ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2’

natalie-dormer-natalie-dormerThe Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer, who plays the wise and beautiful Margaery Tyrell on the show, will be joining The Hunger Games cast for Mockingjay: Part 1 and Part 2 as Cressida. The announcement was made by Lionsgate, the film’s distributor, earlier today.

Cressida, according to The Hunger Games Wiki, is “a resident director from the Capitol who joined the rebellion along with her camera crew Castor and Pollux as well as her assistant Messalla, who had also joined the rebellion, to District 13 when they fled the Capitol. Cressida was told by Plutarch to follow Katniss throughout her journeys in the rebellion so they could make numerous propos across Panem to encourage strength and morale in the rebels.”

Game of Thrones isn’t the actress’ only project; she’ll be in Rush, releasing this September, and The Counselor, releasing in October.

Do you feel as though the actress is right for the role of Cressida?

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, is set to hit theaters on November 21st, 2013. Mockingjay: Part 1 will hit theaters in November 2015.
