Marvel is teaming up with famed producer of the mega-hit Broadway play, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark and live entertainment production company Hero Ventures to bring The Marvel Experience to the USA! According to Sean Haran, VP of Marvel’s Business Development division, the team behind the project will be “a transformative, traveling destination that will deliver to fans and families an exciting, groundbreaking and unique experience.”
The Marvel Experience will be the ultimate Marvel fan experience, combining new 3D films created specifically for the experience with an ambitious 4D motion ride — similar to what you’d experience at a theme park — functioning as the attraction’s centerpiece. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the experience will also include “digitally-projected animation, motion-comic origin stories, virtual reality/holographic simulations, merchandise and integrated social media.”
Commenting on the attraction, Hero Ventures CEO Rick Licht said:
“The dynamic creative elements we’re developing are going to enable anyone to feel like a superhero like Spider-Man or Captain America. We couldn’t be more excited about our partnership with Marvel. Kids and adults are going to be absolutely inspired, empowered and thrilled from start to finish, with an immersive experience that is not just memorable, but unforgettable!”
The Marvel Experience is aiming to start its fourteen city tour in early spring 2014. Fans will be able to buy tickets to the week long event in each city, where they’ll enter a circus tent the size of two football fields to submerge themselves in a real life recreation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
No more information has been revealed about the exhibit, such as which super heroes fans can expect to “participate”, which cities are involved, or how much tickets will cost, but more information has been promised to be released over the coming weeks. We’ll keep you updated!
