Fresh off the Slab Horror Movie News August 2, 2013: ‘You’re Next’, ‘The Green Inferno’, and ‘Curse of Chucky’

There are few movies that I get all horror-nerd-rage filled about (this year, we had The Conjuring, World War Z, etc), but I’m full on intrigued by one of the trailers that follow. Guess which one.

You’re Next

First TV spot for the home invasion horror flick You’re Next has been released and it pretty much tells you that there is no safe haven, not even your own home.

The Davison family comes under attack from a terrifying group of sadistic murderers during a family reunion getaway. Barricaded in their secluded vacation home, they fight off a barrage of axes, crossbows, and machetes from both inside and outside the house. However, the masked killers didn’t count on Erin (Vinson), the young girlfriend of the eldest Davison son whose mysterious past has made her very difficult to kill.

The Green Inferno

Three new pics have been released from Eli Roth’s upcoming horror flick, The Green Inferno. The film is scheduled to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which is running from September 5 to 15, 2013. After that, we will probably see a limited theatrical run.

How far would you go for a cause you believe in? In horror master Eli Roth’s terrifying new film, a group of college students take their humanitarian protest from New York to the Amazon jungle, only to get kidnapped by the native tribe they came to save: a tribe that still practices the ancient rite of cannibalism, and has a healthy appetite for intruders.

Curse of Chucky

While I’m personally shocked that another Chucky movie is being made (however much I do love the Brad Dourif voiced little psychopath), a red band trailer has been released for the film. Take a look below!

He’s back! From the filmmakers that brought you Chucky comes the terrifying return of the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of a notorious serial killer. When a mysterious package arrives at the house of Nica (Fiona Dourif, “True Blood“), she doesn’t give it much thought. However, after her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to the ensuing bloodshed and chaos. The return of America’s favorite toy, voiced again by Brad Dourif, is unrated and full of more blood-splattered thrills and chills.
