This week in trailers: ‘The Mortal Instruments’, ‘Riddick’, ‘Frozen’

The latest trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones shows a lot of the same footage as the first trailer, except a couple of new action scenes. Directed by Harald Zwart and starring Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan and Lena Headey, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters on August 21st.

When her mom is attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a demon, a seemingly ordinary teenage girl, Clary Fray, finds out truths about her past and bloodline on her quest to get her back, that changes her entire life.

Check out the new international trailer for Riddick, directed by David Twohy and starring Vin Diesel, Katee Sackhoff and Karl Urban. Riddick comes out on September 6th.

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.

The teaser for Disney’s Frozen is really only one scene, and it reminded me a bit of the squirrel from Ice Age endlessly loosing and finding the acorn, except here it’s a snowman and his carrot nose. Featuring the voices of Kristen Bell, Alan Tudyk, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel, Frozen comes out on November 27th.

Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna’s sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.
