Release date announced for “Assassin’s Creed’ film adaptation

Well, while we still have no word of a director being hired onto the project, a release date has just been announced. It appears that 20th Century Fox projects a release for Memorial Day weekend in 2015 (which would make it on May 22nd). There is a lot of time between now and then, but I am interested to see what other names become attached to the film.

Currently, all we know is that English playwright Michael Lesslie is writing the screenplay and that Michael Fassbender will be playing the lead, Desmond Miles.

Take a peek at the synopsis from IMDB below:

A bartender is captured by a secret corporation and is forced into a machine allowing him to relive the memories of his ancestors — all of them assassins — and retrieve ancient artifacts.

What are your thoughts? Video game adaptations typically don’t receive the greatest reviews or love from the video game’s fans, but this might just have the potential to be something great.

Who else would you like to see attached to the project? Let me know below!
