First look at the new ‘Spider-Man 2’ Spidey-suit, plus a mysterious Oscorp diagram

The cast and crew of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ (clever name) have been hard at work filming the highly-anticipated follow-up to Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot, and filming usually means leaked set photos! A new batch of photos has hit the web showing the crew shooting promotional shots of Spider-Man, giving us our first true glimpse at the new Spidey-suit.

Surprisingly, the costume doesn’t look nearly as high-tech or professional as the Spider-Man suit worn in the original Spider-Man trilogy. The fabric used seems to be much more flimsy, and it’s apparent that they’re ditching the skin-tight look, as many of the below photos show the costume bunched up in several areas on the model’s (or Andrew Garfield’s, but we doubt it) body:

It’s definitely a drastic change from the old futuristic, basket-ball-texture-inspired Spider-Man suit brought to us by Sam Rami!

But the Spider-Man 2 photos don’t stop at the suit — today, Spider-Man director Marc Webb tweeted out what would appear to be a “secret” Oscorp Industries document showing the detailed anatomical structure of a spider (the same one that bites Peter Parker?). The photo is captioned “Patient Zero”:

Webb tweets a new daily image from the Spider-Man 2 set, many of which have been “first looks” at some of the film’s new characters. You can follow him on Twitter at @MarcW.

Looking for an ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ refresher? Here’s the plot synopsis for the sequel:

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit theaters on May 2nd, 2014!
