‘Snow White and the Huntsman 2’ confirmed for 2015, Kristen Stewart returning

snow-white-and-the-huntsman-2The fate of Snow White and the Huntsman 2 has been up in the air ever since it was revealed that the film’s lead actress, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) had an affair with the film’s married director, Rupert Saunders. The first film, Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron, grossed nearly $400 million world wide after its release in 2012.

Although a sequel was never confirmed before this week, Stewart had expressed interest in returning to the role while giving interviews in recent months.

In a press release yesterday, Universal announced that Snow White and the Huntsman 2 has been given the go-ahead and is set for a 2015 release. Universal is also confirming that Kristin Stewart will be back as Snow White, although no information has been released regarding the potential return of Stewart’s costars or Saunders as director.

We’ll keep you updated on any casting announcements (or cast returns), in addition to any other information related to the Snow White sequel!
