Fresh from the Slab Horror Movie News: March 24, 2013 ‘Riddick’, ‘World War Z’, ‘The Colony’

After weeks and weeks of stills being posted on Facebook, we are finally graced with a trailer for the upcoming sequel to Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. The David Twohy directed sequel will be released in theaters on September 6 and stars Karl Urban, Nolan Funk, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk and Keri Hilson

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

World War Z

Another trailer has been posted for the Max Brook’s based zombie thriller. While this movie does not seem to be actively based on the acclaimed book, it may be welcome addition to the zombie genre. At least, I’m hoping it will be. Take a peak at the trailer below and let me know what you think!

The Colony

A trailer has been posted for the upcoming film Colony.  Starring Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton, Kevin Zegers, John Tench, and Charlotte Sullivan, the film is due to be released in 2013.  Take a peak at the trailer below!

Forced underground by the next ice age, a struggling outpost of survivors must fight to preserve humanity against a threat even more savage than nature.
