The next ‘Assassin’s Creed’ will feature a whole new hero and a new time period

We hope you didn’t get too close and attached to the Assassin’s Creed 3 protagonist Connor because it looks like he was a one hit wonder.  Ubisoft has announced their plans for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed, which will release somtime this year.  While it is not too surprising a revelation of a new title in the works, a new hero and time period sure was.

So that leads us to the question, why exactly is Connor getting the same treatment Altair got and not the full Ezio Auditore experience?  This will probably be answered within the next couple months but in the meantime, gamers can look forward to Ubisoft’s “major leap forward in the franchise”

How big a leap is still undetermined, but it was been reiterated that this annual Assassin’s Creed cycle is only possibly due to the cooperation of multiple development teams.

For those of you who haven’t finished Assassin’s Creed 3, (don’t worry, no spoilers ahead, the main area of focus is how Ubisoft will continue the game’s present day story.  We know that Assassin’s Creed 3 would wrap up the Desmond Miles story, but how it was wrapped up left a lot of questions.

If the current next-gen calendar is to be followed (PS4 and Xbox 720 in the fall) it is highly possible that this will be the last Assassin’s Creed before the franchise makes the leap to next-gen.
