This week’s ‘The Walking Dead’ highlights including Season 3 Blu Ray collector’s edition disks!

So the last few weeks have seen an increase in The Walking Dead articles, news stories, cast interviews, and cast appearances. Here are some of the highlights of the past week and more!

The Walking Dead on the cover of TV Guide!

Not only is our favorite television show featured on the front cover, TV Guide also boasts an on-set exclusive and preview of the award winning zombie hit television show. You can read the article here.

From gore direction with Greg Nicotero to follow up to post season drama to a teaser of what is to come, TV Guide gives us a huge treat before the second half of season three starts Sunday February 10.

The article does provide some additional information behind the separation of Glenn Mazzara leaving the show and how other show runners like Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) and Shawn Ryan (Last Resort) criticized AMC for their handling of the situation.

To me, a more detail in the article is the shows stats for last season. The article states:

Season 3 premiered last October to a series-high 10.9 million viewers and continued to break records for AMC during its eight-week run, until the show was eventually crowned the top scripted series on all of TV in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

And finally, a story that makes me break out in all sorts of zombie nerd/horror geek goosebumps:

The Walking Dead Season 3 Limited Edition Blu Ray Collection Revealed

AMC, McFarlane Toys, and Anchor Bay Entertainment released the details of the collector’s edition disks. These are replicas of the fish tanks with zombie heads that the Governor kept in his home. You can actually fill them with water and arrange the heads as needed. This is just the type of gruesome keepsake all zombie fans need to grace their shelves. I know I’m going to get one. How about you?

The disks will be available later this year.

Keep an eye out for more The Walking Dead news today on Lytherus. It’s a zombie kind of day out there, folks. See you all tonight during the return of our favorite zombie survivors and villians!
