Author Colleen Houck (‘Tiger’s Curse’ series) announces a new book series and short story

tigers-quest-colleen-houckColleen Houck, author of the Tiger’s Curse series, has taken to her blog to make an exciting announcement: the author has sold a new two book series to Delacorte Press! Here’s the officially-released description of the new, as-of-yet-untitled series:

[A] visit to an Egyptian exhibit brings teen Lilliana Young face to face with a recently awakened mummy-turned-handsome-sun-god as she gets caught up in an adventure with more twists and turns than the Nile itself.

Houck is remaining fairly tight-lipped about the project, which is entirely separate from the Tiger’s Curse series, but answered a few questions on her blog. She tells fans that she has outlined the book’s basics but is still in the beginning stages of writing. The new book will “definitely have all the same action, romance, adventure, and mythology of the Tiger Series plus the added coolness of mummies.”

The author had more interesting tidbits to share regarding the new book, including the revelation of some short stories set hit before the book’s release in spring 2015:

There is a whole new world to explore in this book so it will take some time for me to research it all. […] The great news, though, is that we are planning on publishing at least one short story set in this new world before the first book comes out so you can get a head start and meet my amazingly awesome new characters.

Fans of the Tiger’s Curse series have nothing to fear: Houck confirmed that she remains hard at work on Tiger’s Dream, the highly-anticipated fifth installment in the Tiger’s Curse series, but doesn’t have a release date to share just yet.To celebrate the announcement, Houck is giving away several goodies on her personal blog, including signed copies of her books! Head on over to enter into the giveaway. Are you excited for the new series?
