Once again, Fresh From the Slab is back with some of the latest horror movie news out there. Take a peak and I hope you enjoy.
REC 4 Apocalypse
An official teaser trailer for REC 4 has been released. The trailer is more of a highlight reel of REC and REC 2, re-introducing us to original films. A loose translation of the title card is: “You know it and know the place. It’s time to leave.”
What do you think? Should this series of films ended a long time ago or does it have the potential to be a horror franchise?
Chandler Riggs (Carl from The Walking Dead) and Joel Courtney (Super 8) will be starring in the film adaptation of Steven King’s Mercy. Mercy is the story of two young boys who are going on a visit to the hospital where they learn that their dying grandmother (played by Frances O’Connor) is a witch and that her powers are fueled by a pact with the Ancient Ones.
The film is an adaptation of King’s short story “Gramma” which was included in his horror anthology Skeleton Crew. It is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft.
A new trailer has been released for 2013’s Warm Bodies, the next in a long line of zom com’s. The big difference that separates this one from all the others? It really looks like it’s going to have some actual creepy parts and some genuine funny moments.
Directed by Jonathan Levine, Warm Bodies comes out on February 1st and stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton, Dave Franco and Cory Hardrict.
After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.
