This Week In Trailers: “Dark Skies”, “Jack The Giant Slayer”, “Epic”

Be sure to take a look at the new super creepy trailer for Dark Skies, all the more unnerving thanks to its perfectly mundane setting. Written and directed by Scott Charles Stewart and starring Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyo and J.K. Simmons, Dark Skies comes out on February 22nd, 2013.

Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton lead the alien horror thriller as Lacey and Daniel Barret, parents living in a quaint suburban neighborhood. Trouble comes in the form of an “alien presence” that terrorizes their poor little boys. As the horror and violence escalate, friends and neighbors grow skeptical of Lacey and Daniel’s behavior, leaving the pair with no choice but to take care of the issue themselves. Screenrant

Nothing seems to particularly stand out in the new trailer for  Jack the Giant Slayer, but some of the visuals are pretty interesting. Directed by Bryan Singer and starring Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor, Jack the Giant Slayer hits theaters on March 1st, 2013. Here’s the synopsis from IMDb:

A modern day fairy tale in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened, as a young farmer leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom in hopes of rescuing a kidnapped princess.

The latest trailer for the animated Epic goes into greater detail regarding the story and overall, it looks promising. Directed by Chris Wedge and featuring the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell and Christoph Waltz, Epic comes out on May 24th, 2013. Here’s the synopsis from IMDb:

A teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. She bands together with a rag-tag group characters in order to save their world – and ours.
