Excuse me while I completely nerd out for a bit. You have probably picked up on the fact that I am a huge zombie fan, and news about all of the setbacks and issues World War Z had faced was a bit disconcerting. Fans like me were wondering: “will this movie ever be finished?” Now, we have hope. The first trailer has been released!
I’m really curious to hear what all you think. It’s pretty obvious that insane liberties were taken with the source material. How do you think this is going to play out? Will the definitive change to the story push fans away?
The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21, 2013. Directed by Marc Forster, the adaptation of Max Brooks’ “World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War” stars Brad Pitt, Eric West, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse.
“The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”
