The 12th Annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival wrapped up the festivities with the announcement of the winners of their famed “Skully” awards. The Skully is a gold statue designed by legendary FX guru Stan Winston.

Screamfest was formed in August 2001 by film producers Rachel Belofsky and Ross Martin in order to give filmmakers and writers in the horror/sci-fi genres a venue to have their work showcased to people in the industry.

As you can see, American Mary swept the awards, winning Best Cinematography, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Picture! Congratulations to the Soska Sisters for these amazing wins! We’ve featured news about this movie on Lytherus before, and it is exciting that their movie is doing so well. I am looking forward to more news about Jen and Sylvia Soska’s film!
