I’m really curious to see how The Hobbit can be divided into three movies. I’m worried that it might feel a little stretched out. However, I am insanely excited to see the films.

THE MORE HOBBITS THE MERRY (get it?) -ER?

I figure each hobbit movie will only be about 90 or 100 minutes long, so an amount of material that could easily be put into two movies but has been made into three for 1.5 times the profit.

I’ve never seen a movie fully capture the depth of a book before, no matter how short the book was. I’m really excited to see if Peter Jackson’s approach to this book will prove to be the key.

Well, I suppose if they’re going to be filling in what Gandalf was up to against Sauron in his aspect of the Necromancer and expanding on characters a bit the extra time is warranted.
I mean, half the characters in The Hobbit, even if they’re in Thorin’s company are rather peripheral.

I’m actually pretty apprehensive about this whole thing…fingers crossed that they’ll stay at least a little true to the books––I mean, book!
