In preparation for the August 31 release of The Possession, Lionsgate has released a 3 minute video concerning the “Dibbuk”, a malevolent spirit that has found no rest and takes over another person’s body. The Dibbuk is a Hebraic phenomenon. Take a look at the video here:
IFC Films has picked up distribution right for Maniac for its IFC Midnight label. The film, starring Elijah Wood, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. It is rumored that the majority of the kills scenes are in the POV of the killer, which adds a little special something new to a slasher film.

Brought to us by WWE Studios and Anchor Bay Films, The Day stars a pretty impressive cast of Dominic Monaghan, Ashley Bell, Shawn Ashmore and Shannyn Sossamon. While this isn’t exactly horror, it does look like an amazing scifi thriller that is being released in theaters on August 29th.

A group of five survivors, armed with shotguns, axes and machetes, wander the back roads of a ravaged landscape looking for refuge in The Day, a terrifying look into a post-apocalyptic future.
