The Walking Dead Season 3 will be Broken into 2

I really can’t decide if this is good news or not. Like Season 2 of The Walking Dead, Season 3 will be split into two. The 16 episode season will premiere on October 14 and will run for 8 episodes. The following 8 will be shown in early 2o13.

Robert Kirkman announced on twitter today that the midseason finale finished shooting today and then also posted a picture of the set. This picture takes us into the town of Woodbury which figures prominently in the next season.

Tell me: What do you think of the news that the season will be split again? Is AMC making a good move to keep anticipation high for fans or is the type of maneuvering that will alienate viewers?
