For the fourth year in a row, a group of horror actresses are coming together to raise money and spread awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The event is being hosted by the Busted Foundation and provides support to Los Angeles women who are suffering from this disease. The charity event will take place on October 21, 2012.
Here is some of the information from the recently released press release:
Organized by Dreadcentral.com writer Sean Decker, ‘The Horror Starlets’ 2012 team is comprised of the returning Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede films), Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever), Allison Kyler (Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2), Brooke Lewis (Slime City Massacre), Sarah Butler (I Spit On Your Grave) and Carlee Baker (The Woman). Joining them are Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie’s Halloween) and Barbara Nedeljakova (of Eli Roth’s Hostel films).
In addition to their goal of raising breast cancer awareness, the team is set to participate in the 8th Annual Bowling For Boobies®, which takes place on October 21st in Los Angeles at Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City Walk with a red carpet, followed by an evening of bowling, raffles and giveaways, with the proceeds to directly benefit women struggling with breast cancer. Joining the ‘The Horror Starlets’ will be The Go-Go’s Jane Wiedlin and Thomas Jane of Reno 911, among other celebrities.
Says Sean Decker of his work with ‘The Horror Starlets’ and Busted Foundation, “For the last four years I’ve been involved directly with Bowling For Boobies and it’s been a vastly rewarding experience, as the money we raise goes directly to women struggling with breast cancer. As a team we are reaching out to the horror community and beyond this year, and ask people to come together in support of local Los Angeles women fighting this disease.”
Added Barbara Nedeljakova of Hostel & Hostel: Part II, “Cancer is a word that always bring tears to my eyes. I have lost way too many people, including the person I have loved the most, my mother, to this dreaded disease. There isn’t a day which passes that I don’t wish she was still here spreading love and compassion the way she did, and this for me is why Busted Foundation, and the money we raise to assist women struggling with breast cancer is so very important. So please, help us to support them by making a charitable donation today.”
The Horror Starlets are soliciting donations via their official site which can be found here:
