Lionsgate sets date for ‘Hunger Games’ finales

Lionsgate Films announced Tuesday the date fans can expect to see the final book in the trilogy put to the big screen.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1″ will be released November 21, 2014, and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2″ will release almost exactly one year later on November 20, 2015.

Lionsgate had previously announced their plan to split the final book into two films, following the mold set by the finales of both the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises.

The second film, ”The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” is currently in production and is set to be released on November 22, 2013.

Wow Mocking Jay split into TWO films? I wish they would stop doing this because this is now obviously just all for the money. I can see how Harry Potter got split into two but Mockingjay is going to be hard to pull off in two films…

      Totally agree.
There’s almost no way the third film in 2 parts is gonna be good. It was gonna be hard enough for me to see it in 1 part.
