Justice League #9 and Avengers Vs. X-Men #4 Will Have You Drooling For More!

Looking for suggestions on what to read this week? Look no further! Check out reviews for Justice League #9 and Avengers Vs. X-Men #4, the two biggest comic releases this week!

Justice League #9

An exciting new story arc begins with this incredible ninth issue, and if you weren’t particularly interested in reading Justice League before, you definitely will be now. Geoff Johns once again proves he is one of the most talented and capable writers in the industry, and Jim Lee returns as artist after two issues of allowing others to draw the comic. If that isn’t reason enough to pick up this issue, I don’t know what is.

The Justice League has gained worldwide fame, while Steve Trevor, once one of their most trusted advisors, is in a downward spiral of depression following his breakup with Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, while Batman and Superman are battling their way through Arkham Asylum to find an elusive super villain, they learn of a new villain, one who is hell bent on tearing the Justice League apart.

Geoff Johns makes our favorite heroes leap right off the page with crackling dialogue and heart-stopping action, while Jim Lee once again provides stunning artwork.

If this issue tells us anything, it tells us that it can only get better from here.

Avengers Vs. X-Men #4

Marvel’s latest and most talked about event, Avengers Vs. X-Men, pits two powerful superhero teams against each other in an explosive battle for the fate of the world. The first three issues were all set up, but now we are getting to the good stuff. Superstar writer Jonathan Hickman and notable artist John Romita Jr. team up to bring readers a fun and exciting story that will keep them guessing until the last page.

The Phoenix, a mysterious entity with terrifying power, heads to Earth to control its new host. Hope, daughter of Cable and under the protection of the X-Men, is the chosen host. When the Avengers hear word of this, they confront the X-Men and demand that Hope be turned over to them. When they refuse, a huge battle rages, kick-starting a global conflict between these two formidable teams. Who will win? And will the world survive yet another threat?

As far as Marvel events go, Avengers Vs. X-Men is one of the best of the past decade. The creative team behind it keeps you guessing, so even readers who are sure about what is going to happen next will be shocked. It’s hard to tell where this story will go, but most readers will just sit back and enjoy the ride.

And boy is it a ride.
