Newest DLC for “Batman: Arkham City” is revealed – “Harley Quinn’s Revenge”

For over a month now, we have been hearing rumors and speculations regarding a potential story DLC, not just new challenge packs or character skins, for one of 2011’s best games, Batman: Arkham City.  The title has many record-breaking sales and not to mention, racking up plenty of industry awards.

Now, six months after the titles hit the stores, Rocksteady Studios, is giving late-to-the-game players a new reason to jump into the game and battle one of Arkham’s most dangerous inmated once again – since on May 29th, we will see the release of Batman: Arkham City’ Game of the Year Edition.  However, veterans of the game have a reason to be excited as well because on the same day, Rocksteady will release a brand new story mission for the game cenetered around fan-favorite villainess, Harley Quinn.

An iconic bat-villain since her debut in Batman: The Animated Series, Dr. Harleen Francis Quinzel, has been essential in Rocksteady’s Batman games.  Given the shocking ending of Arkham City, it is only appropriate that Quinn gets one last shot at taking down Batman.

Check out the trailer for the Batman: Arkham City’ Game of the Year Edition below – which features our first look at the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC:

According to Warner Bros. official press release:

The Harley Quinn’s Revenge mission sends players back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin. Gamers must utilize each of the characters’ unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley’s vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs.

While details on the content pack are still slim, it sounds as if Quinn might finally manage to pull one over on Batman – requiring Robin to save the day. Of course, considering the aftermath of Arkham City, it’s certainly possible that add-on will actually see Batman in a desperate attempt to save his loved ones from Quinn’s thirst for revenge.
