Play Your Favorite Characters in Marvel’s New Social Game on Facebook

Marvel Entertainment and Disney Interactive Media Group (DIMG) has launched its first social game based on the classic Marvel characters, Marvel: Avengers Alliance. Now live on Facebook, this game was developed by Playdom and is a turn-based tactical combat RPG with tons of your favorite super heroes and villains.

“[We decided to] take that classic Marvel experience and bring it too as big an audience as possible,” said Robert Reichner, Playdom Senior Producer. By using dozens of the most iconic of Marvel characters, the RPG combat experience is unlike any other social game.

Marvel: Avengers Alliance combines epic Marvel characters with Playdom’s industry-leading game mechanics to deliver a game that is sure to attract casual gamers and Super Hero fans alike,” said John Spinale, Senior Vice President of Social Games, Disney Interactive Media Group. “With this game, Disney is bringing one of the world’s largest entertainment brands to the largest social network, giving millions of fans an entirely new opportunity to engage with the characters they love.”

The game takes place post galaxy-wide disaster. This event, known as the Pulse, has exposed New York to a hoard of super villains against which our heroes must fight. As a character, you will be recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and it will be your responsibility to build and lead teams of heroes to keep Manhattan safe against all the baddies – and we’re talking the big guns here: Doctor Doom, Magneto, Loki, Hydra, and AIM among many others.

The game is looking to continue its expansion over the next few months with ongoing releases to more content. So as you play, ever-more storylines, costumes, weapons, characters, and powers will be developed for your enjoyment!
