Peter Jackson Announces Last Addition to The Cast of The Hobbit

Written by on February 9th, 2012

Exciting news surfaced today when Peter Jackson himself announced the final addition to the cast of his highly anticipated, two part adaptation of the beloved fantasy classic The Hobbit. Bill Connolly, an English born actor best known for his role in The Boondocks Saints, will play the dwarf Dain II Ironfoot, a character who most likely won’t appear until the second part.

Connolly’s many acting credits include The X-Files: I Want to Believe, The Last Samurai, and Muppet Treasure Island. Does this news get you excited for The Hobbit, or are you indifferent about who is cast, as long as they do a good job?

Let us know what you think!

Being a huge Tolkien and Boondock Saints fan, I think this is an amazing pairing. Billy Connolly as Dain Ironfoot??? Awesome.

Ok, for the accent alone, it’s worth it.
Just, I hope that in the special features of the DVD, it’ll have some of his stand-up comedy, this guy is a total laugh-riot on stage.

More hobbit news. Love it!!! I don’t know who half the actors are (other than the famous ones) but I still think the movie will be epic. It’s not gonna be half so epic as The Lord of the Rings primarily due to the fact that they are trying to build a new franchise off this but I still think it will shine amongst the vampire, zombie, and werewolf movies out there. Rock on, Peter Jackson, Rock on!! ;-)
