Official “The World of Hunger Games” companion guide is given a cover, more information released

Scholastic, the publisher behind the upcoming “World of Hunger Games” book, has officially released a book cover and information on its contents and Susanne Collins’ involvement in a new post on their blog. The book is described as “the official, richly illustrated, full-color guide to all the districts of Panem, all of the participants in The Hunger Games, and the life and home of Katniss Everdeen.”

Perhaps most exciting is the revelation that Collins herself played a role in the book’s creation — which isn’t always the case with these types of books. Her involvement through a series of interviews, as well as the participation of several members of Collins’ editorial team at Scholastic, lends a layer of credibility and officialness to the book that should help entice hardcore Hunger Games fans into picking up a copy of the official companion guide.

With the characters and locations described above surely set to be fleshed out in the movie, it’s nice to see an official text-based guide to the world of Panem coming our way!

Here’s the official book cover:

The World of Hunger Games will hit stores on March 23rd. Will you be picking up a copy?
