Game of Thrones Director Replacing Patty Jenkins As Director of Thor 2!

It is official: Talented director Patty Jenkins is no longer directing Thor 2. Now, Alan Taylor, who is best known for directing five episodes of Game of Thrones, is reportedly set to helm the second solo Thor movie.

After Jenkins left the project, there was a mad scramble to find her replacement so that Marvel could get production underway for a November 2013 release. Taylor will be making his big screen directorial debut with Thor 2, having mainly worked on big TV shows such as Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, and Lost. But with such an impressive resume, he could very well deliver a sequel that is an improvement over the original.

What do you all think? Will Alan Taylor be a good fit for Thor 2?

All my concerns about that movie are now quashed.

The fact that he worked on both Lost and Game of Thrones leaves me thinking that Thor 2 will be no worse for wear, if not improved from the change in directors

Lost, Game of Thrones, and Mad Men? Should do just fine…
