This trailer looks wicked good! From the looks of it, at least with Frodo, the “bringing back some of the LoTR characters” thing won’t actually be that random in the movie, thank goodness!

We actually explained it in a recent story — Peter Jackson is doing some flashbacks at the start of the story which will show Frodo.

      Here’s the story: http://lytherus.com/2011/11/20/the-hobbit-news-roundup-set-video-revealing-set-reports-how-does-frodo-appear-and-trailer-release-date/

No problem! It will be cool to see some of the LotR cast in the Hobbit, even if it’s just for a brief flashback. :)

And don’t forget Orlando Bloom returning! Of course Legolas being in there is perfectly fine with me since it does work with the books.

  • Dragon of the West

it looks sooooooo GOOOOD! tolkien would be proud ;DD

Why is Galadriel doing that hair tucking thing with Gandalf??? I sure hope they’renot trying to spin a love story b/w Gandalf and Galadriel…coz that’s just…sacrilegious!!!

    Otherwise, it’s just awesome!!! Can’t wait for freaking 358 more days… :(

I’m not sure which part I enjoyed more!
I always enjoyed “The Hobbit” a little
more than I like “Lord of the Rings”,
because of the less complex plot
which made it easier for light-reading.

What makes this whole thing better
is that John and Sherlock are both
going to be in this! CAN’ T WAIT!

i have goosebumps all over. i can’t even explain. tenth time watching it and i still get the chills. how is it even possible? that book is magical, LotR is also magical, and the LotR movie trilogy is simply impossible to describe, and now this movie.. God.. Thorin singing.. Think I’ve said this once, but I’ll tell you again, next year will likely be the best year of my life (and i’m sure of this now that I have this trailer), but the hardest nonetheless. And Martin Freeman is – as it seems – doing such a good job! He’s brilliant as John Watson but Bilbo seems to fit him the better. I can’t wait to watch it.

This is the best Christmas present ever!! The trailer released at C’mas reminds me of The Lord of the Rings that was also released at the winter holidays. This trailer is so awesome and nearly everything is very acurate. I only hope they don’t fall into the Hollywood trap by making it your typical action blockbuster flick. Otherwise, it looks epic and is the best trailer released to date. After 20 long years of waiting (not that I’ve waited so long), this is as epic and brilliant as is it should be. I have the utmost faith in Peter Jackson and it only make things better that we’ll see some of our favourite characters again. I think Martin Freeman has done an excellent job as Bilbo and he ties in seamlessly with the other Bilbo. This is gonna be a blast and I can’t wait for December 2012 to roll around. The world better not end in 2012 because I have to watch this Tolkkien epic and its sequel.

    Splendid, simply splendid!

So happy right now. I’m very pleased with my self control. Since I knew the trailer was showing before Tintin, I decided to wait 24 hours and watch it the first time on the big screen. This is such a good trailer. Nice and slow, unlike other trailers, where to catch everything you have to go and freeze-frame everything. But I must admit, me being the Aragorn fan that I am, the biggest moment for me was seeing the Shards of Narsil again. And right now I’m currently puzzling over where exactly that desolate place Gandalf is in. Guessing Dol Guldur, whether in flashback or present I’m not sure. Either way next December can’t come fast enough!

    Where is the dragon ?!

Probably not until the second movie, would be my guess. There’s no reason why Smaug would be in there until they actually got to the Mountin
