Last Week In Trailers: “John Carter”, “The Raven”

We had an interesting mix last week – 12-foot-tall Martians, and Edgar Allan Poe chasing a serial killer, in the new trailers for John Carter and The Raven.

The new trailer for John Carter is full of action, aliens, great music, and more aliens. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:

Transplanted to Mars, a Civil War vet discovers a lush planet inhabited by 12-foot tall barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter a princess who is in desperate need of a savior.

Directed by Andrew Stanton and starring Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe, John Carter is set to come out on March 9, 2012.

The Raven brings more creepy with this new trailer, pretty much, with the very first scene. It’s shaping up to be pretty dark so far. The Raven is directed by James McTeigue and stars John Cusack and Luke Evans. Here’s what IMDB has to say:

A fictionalized account of the last days of Edgar Allan Poe’s life, in which the poet pursues a serial killer whose murders mirror those in the writer’s stories.

The Raven comes out on March 9, 2012.
