Big Budget set for Live-Action Kite Adaptation

Wow, it seems like a lot of anime series are getting live action adaptations lately. This new feature is going to be adapted from the Kite OVA. A few details were released about Distant Horizons; The budget is set to be $12 million and is co-produced by Mexico’s Detalle Films. The director, David R. Ellis (Shark Night 3D, Snakes on a Plane and Cellular,) and is supposedly a big fan of the Kite story (a good sign.) The filming will take place primarily South Africa with filming set to start in January. Advanced talks are going on about casting and more details are set to come out soon.
