The Walking Dead Picked Up for Third Season after the Season 2 Premier’s Record-Breaking Ratings

Though season 2 has just started, AMC has just confirmed that they will be renewing the hit series The Walking Dead for a third season. The recent 90-minute season premier had almost ridiculous ratings claiming 4.8 million viewers counted in the 18-49 demographic metric and 4.2 million viewers in the 25-54 demographic metric. This adds up to about 7.3 million total viewers all simultaneously saying “ewww” in excitement.

The Walking Dead TV show is an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s award-winning and long-running comic book series of the same title. Kirkman is also one of the executive producers of the show. The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, the leader of a small band of people just trying to survive the unexpected zombie apocalypse.

You can catch episodes of The Walking Dead Sundays at 8pm on AMC.
