If there is one first person shooter that can genuinley be labeled as a multiplayer title, then it is undoubtedly the classic Goldeneye 64. Though it was surely not the first, Goldeneye delivered to gamers everywhere a very unique experience unlike anything that has been experienced before. That same experience is what companies look to achieve still today.
Goldeneye 007 was the first attempt from this franchise to bring the classic game qualities back and update them for a Wii enviroment, but let’s face it, as highly anticipated as it was, the Wii graphics could not handle it and ultimately held the game back.
So here we are, giving it a second chance with Goldeneye 007: Reloaded, an exclusive PS3 and Xbox 360 release (sorry Wii) and will feature an entire new game engine, new M16 missions, support for many more players online and more multiplayer characters and levels. With the craze of HD remakes lately, there is nothing stopping gamers back from checking out this title.
To help give those who might have scoffed at the outdated graphics (read: Wii graphics) of the first GoldenEye 007 a better look at the multiplayer now with its new engine, Activision has sent over a trailer that is all about the multiplayer. Check it out:
From the trailer it can be seen that many of the gold (no pun intended) standards from the original have returned including classic Bond villains Oddjob and Jaws, as well as someupdated locales and weaponry. If nothing else seeing the golden gun one-hit kill again should bring a smile to any nostalgic gamers face.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded releases November 1, 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
