DC Owns September! Sales Numbers Show Company Holds Top Five Best-Sellers in September

1

As if we needed more proof that the DC New 52 have been a success, crude sales numbers (the exact numbers won’t be in till next year) are out for September. Things are looking good for this comic book publishing company. So good, in fact, that it seems that they have actually surpassed Marvel in monthly sales for the first time in years. DC actually had five for five out of top issues sold.

According to comicvine.com:

5 of the Top 5 comic books for the month of September.
o 8 out of the Top 10 comic books for the month of September.
o 17 of the Top 20 comic books for the month of September.
o 19 of the Top 25 comic books for the month of September.
o 32 of the Top 50 comic books for the month of September.

Even more crazy? These numbers do not yet include second through fourth printings nor digital sales. Talking purely about the hard copies, the top comic book sold (in issue units) is Batman #1. The top comic when measuring sales dollars is Action Comics #1, which sold at $3.99 while the others of the New 52 releases sold at $2.99.

The question is, of course, can DC maintain this rate of sales and topple Marvel from their seat at the top of the sales chart where they comfortably sat at the end of last year? Stay tuned to New 52 news to find out!
