New International Trailer for The Adventures of Tintin is the Best Yet

2

A new action-packed international “Adventures of Tintin” trailer has hit the web — and in our opinion, it’s the best yet! Peter Jackson announced the new trailer on his official Facebook page, and fans were immediately pleased.

The new trailer features a pretty good amount of action — certainly not what we had expected when we first heard the project would be adapted into a motion-capture animated film. This trailer specifically includes on-fire pirate ships battling it out at sea, fist fights, creepy bad guys, sea plane attacks, rocket launchers, motorcycles with sidecars, and zip-line escapes. Impressive!

Need a refresher on the Tintin story? The movie, a first in a series, is a re-telling of the famous comics of the same name by Georges Rémi (Hergé), who published the comics from 1929 to 1976. The first film will tell the story of the title character Tintin, voiced by Jamie Bell, and his first encounter with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with protection from a prison escapee who tried to get the treasure as well as Detectives Thompson and Thomson (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost). The first film will combine three Tintin comics: The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure.

With such big names as Steven Spielberg directing, Peter Jackson producing, and Steven Moffat writing, is this really a movie you could turn down? Do you plan to see it when it hits theaters this December?
